It’s a day like any other. You’re sipping on your 40 in the alley playing dice with the boys when suddenly you get a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. Did you forget to feed the cat? Did you leave granny at the bus stop? No, you know what the problem is, and it’s much worse—you haven’t been keeping track of what the gayest game on Kickstarter is…
But luckily you bust out your phone and are on IndieRuckus.com in a flash to catch up on the least hetro game in crowdfunding. And at the moment it’s Gayway, a point-and-click adventure with a self-proclaimed irreverent storyline!
Gayway follows the tale of young Frank, whose father recently committed suicide. Or at least that’s what the cops are telling him. Despite Frank and his father never seeing eye to eye on Frank’s lifestyle, Frank knows his father well enough to know that he wouldn’t have gone out in such a way. So it’s up to Frank and his loyal pals Rus, Tim, Leon and Jake to get to the bottom of this suspected homo-cide. Get it? They’re gay puns. Well yeah I know Frank’s father wasn’t gay, but—LOOK, I CAN’T PASS UP A PUN. I’M SORRY.
Gayway is being developed by Camouflame out of Florence, Italy. They are asking for a very specific $54,150 which means there’s actually a possibility they sat down and made a real budget for the game, unlike many Kickstarter projects. Stretch goals listed on their Kickstarter page include spin-off stories for each of the main characters. Here’s the trailer:
