Someone smart once said “there’s no such thing as a free lunch”. Were they complaining? Or perhaps were they yelling it gleefully in the face of a hungry beggar as they dumped uneaten food into the trash bin behind their fancy restaurant? I don’t know, but luckily that saying apparently only applies to midday meals, because there are free games everywhere. Missing Translation is one such generously free game that boasts solid puzzles, simple but thorough pixel work, and a totally rad soundtrack. You may not be able to sustain yourself on Missing Translation, nutritionally, but if you are in the mood for a collection of brain teasers in a light adventure game shell, you can’t beat the price.
I video captured the first 20 minutes of the game for your previewing pleasure, but before you watch I must mention that though the game is free, there is a deluxe version available that come with a bunch of art and more importantly the awesome soundtrack. Take a look and listen:
