Come gather ’round the fire and, if you aren’t particularly averse to idioms, then feast your eyes on the trailer for upcoming adventure RPG Moon Hunters! Also, listen to the voice in the song played during the trailer. Doesn’t it sound backwards, like they reversed the recording? I’m too lazy to flip it and find out though! (Curiosity isn’t killing this cat)
The first thing that strikes me is the Gauntlet aspect of 4 characters of different affiliation running around beating ass together. The second thing that strikes me is the idea of completing tasks for people. But what sets Moon Hunters apart from Zelda on this front is the nuance of interaction you have with characters. At least judging from this trailer, there seems to be an element of reputation you get from individuals and possibly even the community based on how you act in even simple interactions with NPCs. And then there seems to be further layers of stat growth and settlement building that make me think hey, this is going to be one unique game. Excited!
Check out more information about Moon Hunters on Steam. It’s slated for release in January and has been announced for at least Steam, PS4 and Vita. This is coming from the same team that made Shattered Planet to acclaim last year, so I’m expecting something great here.
